The answer to both questions is yes.


Please note that this is different from getting you site to be indexed by google (have your website showing up in the results) for that have a look at this page instead.


1. Go to the google website clicking on this link

2. Click on “Add site search” to your site

  1. 3.You will be asked to sign in or sign up for a google account if you don’t have it yet

4. Set up your search engine (name, description, language, what you want to search, ...)

5. Enter the url of your site under “Select some sites”.

  1. -yourbaseurl.com

  2. -web.mac.com/username/

It has to be the one under which your pages are indexed on google.

  1. 6.Click on Next and try it out. If it works click on Finish.

7. You will get to a page called “My search engines” where you will see the name of the search engine you created. Click on the “control panel” you find near it. And then click on “Code” on the top of that page.

8. There you will find two codes one “Your search box code” and the other “Your search results code”. Under “Specify search results details” type in the page where you want the results to display. We will call the page Results. Thus we will type in:

  1. -http://yourbaseurl.com/sitename/Results.html

  2. -http://web.mac.com/username/sitename/Results.html

9. When typed it the url copy the “Your search box code” and the “Your search results code” to a word document or to a text edit document and save it.

10. Now go to iWeb and create a page for the results. As previously mentioned we will call this page Results

  1. 11.Make a textbox on that page and type the following text in it

12. Resize the textbox until it has the size of how you want the results to display.

13. Open the Inspector and go to the 'Page' tab and uncheck the "Display navigation menu" box

14. On each page you want the google search to be included make a textbox with the following code in it:

15. Now go to iTweak and under Interface

  1. 16.Copy& Paste the “Your search results code” to the Google Search Code box

  2. 17.Go to Search & Replace and click on the “+” sign on the bottom left part

18. Now:

In Search type in: GoogleSearchGoesHere

In Replace copy&paste the “Your search box code”

19. Go to Options and check the “Integrate Google Search” box and the “Search & Replace” box.

20. Click on “Choose Published Site”

- If you publish to a folder choose the folder you publish to from iWeb

  1. -If you publish to .Mac select your iDisk/Web/Sites/ folder where iWeb publishes to.

If you can’t choose the iDisk because you don’t see it go to Finder/Preferences/Sidebar and check the box near the iDisk

  1. 21.Hit “Process Site” and you’re done.


Note: You have to run iTweak every time you re-publish from iWeb.
