There is no Forum, Message board or Discussion board in iWeb as you will notice...

For .Mac publishers and non -.Mac publishers

If you publish to .Mac or don't want to upload a forum to your server or your server doesn't fit the requirements then you can open one for free on a free forumhost like the following ones:

http://www.forumfree.com/

http://www.freeforums.org/

Or any other you find searching on google

Then link it from your website or embedding them using an iFrame. There may be issues with sizes and not displaying the whole site and so on.

Forumfree seems to work good. I only once had a problem on forumfree: I couldn't access my administration panel anymore. However the problem of not being able to access the administration panel might have been my fault

If you can I'd recommend you an additional host for the Forum (maybe you find something free and working good out there) and put the rest of the website on .Mac.

See an example here

For non-.Mac publishers only (and not all of them)

What you would have to do is take a Forum like phpBB's ( http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/ ) which is great and I used for a long time until I had to drop it due to lack of visitors writing on it.

Here's an example of phpBB's forum http://www.phpbb.com/community/ templates can be changed (I personally don't like the one in the example)

An alternative could also be the following: http://www.simplemachines.org/

Upload it to your server and then make a link from iWeb to your Forum. You could also embed it in an iWeb-Page through an iFrame...

Please check what the requirements are to do that and if your hosting fits them.

Note that you need a MySQL database to install the phpBB forum and php support ( .Mac doesn't offer that feature, but a lot of other hostings do).

Installation of the phpBB Forum is really easy.

An Example of an embedded Forum (Apple iWeb Discussion Forum which is NOT related to iwebfaq.org) can be found Here in Chapter 2, obviously it can be done better but I can’t because of my iWeb FAQ page layout... So you will be able to remove scrollbars and it will look like it is part of the site.
