(also have a look at the Feedback and Comments FAQ)

It's not possible within iWeb itself, but it's possible by adding some non-iWeb stuff (third-party products). Simple widgets you can add with an html snippet. That's quite easy so no problem.

Have a look at these widgets (very simple but maybe enough for your purpose)

Widgetbox search for “Form”

Or these services of which people report they are great for creating your own forms or widgets. I used Wufoo myself to create the form you can use to subscribe to our Newsletter here. It works really great!

How do you get the widget 'into' iWeb? How do I use HTML Snippets?

Let's have an example...

Looking through the widgets on Widgetbox where one can find a widget for almost everything he’s looking for I found the following newsletter widget would be useful to me (it's an example) Widgetbox Newsletter Widget

1. Click on "get widget" you will see a popup window where you select "Get widget code"

2. Copy the code

3. Go to iWeb and click on WebWidgets=>HTML Snippet

  1. 4.Two windows appear:

in the black one you paste the code copied before

5. Click on Apply

6. You’re done. You will now see the Snippet appearing in your iWeb. Double click it to interact.

It's really easy to integrate widgets into iWeb and it's like "embedding a whole new world" into iWeb. They are really useful. No matter what you use to get/build the widget. You will find the code somewhere to paste into the snippet.

NOTE: For some widgets you will have to register to get it to work properly (in the example you will see a yellow field with a white key appearing in it click it to register so that everything works as it should)

Using iTweak to add a contact form

(needs php support on your server, .mac doesn’t support php)

1. Open iWeb

2. On the page you want to add the Contact form functionality to add a Text Box in which you type

%%CONTACT_FORM_MAIN%%

3. Make another page which will be used as a”Thank you for filling out the form” page

4. On that page add a Text Box in which you type

%%CONTACT_FORM_SUB%%

Then go to the Inspector, choose the Page tab and uncheck the “Include page in navigation” box

5. Publish your website to a folder or to .mac

6. Open iTweak

7. Click on “Choose Published Site” and choose the folder you publish to from iWeb

8. Under “Discussion” type your e-mail address in the “Your e-mail” box

10. From the teardown menus choose the pages you meant to be “Contact Page” and “Thank you page”

11. Go to Options and check the “Add Contact-form” box.

12. Hit “Process Site” and you’re done. All you need to do now is upload your site.

Note: You have to run iTweak every time you re-publish from iWeb.

What is iTweak? and what is it good for? Have a look at this page
